The Sandwell Steelers have acquired a new base of operations and the move will now see all three programmes train at the same location. The ability to centralise all of our programmes helps out massively with logistics, as many Senior players help coach the respective Women’s and Youth teams.
The Steelers Adult, Women’s and Youth teams are now proud to call The Royal Society of Arts Academy (RSA) their new training venue. Training sessions will now be held on their state of the art 3G playing surface and all team classrooms will be held in the comfort of their lecture theatres and classrooms.
This partnership comes about after players and coaches raved about the facilities after our two scintillating taster sessions. It is believed that facilities like those on offer at RSA Tipton will help attract new talented players and also aid in the learning and development of Steelers who have played previously.
The partnership between both RSA and the Sandwell Steelers isnat just built around the use of their facilities. Both organisations have similar values and beliefs towards continual personal development of all of their members and a common aim to be leaders in excellence and innovation to the local community.
In previous seasons, the Steelers have made two different locations their home, with both of these residing in the ‘Black Country’. The first being Tipton Sports Academy, who have been nothing short of excellent in their service throughout our short history. We are extremely grateful to Sandwell Leisure Trust and the staff at TSA and we will continue to use their stadium as our home venue for 2017. Last season we were able to build a relationship with Wednesbury R.U.F.C to use their 3G and grass facilities for Adult & Women training sessions. We would like to thank both TSA and Wednesbury R.F.C for their support without which, we undoubtedly wouldnat have had the success to date we have had.
As mentioned above, Tipton Sports Academy will remain our home venue for matchdays, and look forward to a great-continued relationship. We are in ongoing talks with our divisional rivals and the League to finalise our fixture list ahead of the season. Once we can bring you dates, times and venues for our away games we will share them across all of our media outlets.
