The Steelers have amassed two impressive victories in as many weekends, with wins coming against the Coventry Jets and the Birmingham Bulls. This weekend however, the Steelers take on an old opponent in the form of the Leicester Falcons.
The last time the sides met was two years ago, the same year the Steelers gained promotion to Division One. Taking bragging rights when the Steelers reigned supreme all three times. Since then the Falcons have been on a promotion quest of their own, finally getting in to Division One for this season after a very impressive offensive force taking Division Two by storm.
Although the 32-0 win against the Birmingham Bulls was uninspiring, both Offence and Defence have taken the bye-week to hone their craft. With the offence taking great strides forward as Wednesday mid-week training saw six RBs at practise. The potential highlight of the weekend may be new transfer Oheeul Choudhury, a former Birmingham Bull. This weekend will be his first in the a?Grey & Golda but heas already been performing to a high standard in training.
Head Coach Ross Barrow spoke to us about the upcoming contest, hereas what he had to say: a?The start to the season has been good, and itas gone about as much as what we expected. This weekend we shall be looking to take it up to the next level, against a team who will still be reeling from the defeat we handed them in the semi-final of our perfect season two years ago. Over the past few seasons the Falcons have been steadily growing an offensive force that can score an abundance of touchdowns through the ground and the air, so our defence needs to be on top form this weekends to keep that to a minimum or hopefully to nothing. My coaching staff and myself are looking forward to hosting the Falcons this Sunday, and we are relishing the challenge they may providea?.
Double Coverage has predicted this game to be a a?high scoring affaira so why miss out on whatas set to be an incredible game of football.
